Kaapelin joulu, the merriest Christmas event that is held in Kaapelitehdas two weekends in a row this year, offers you a great selection of quality design products, craftsmen works and a wide range of workshops and program for the whole family to enjoy. New thing this year is the Record Fair, which offers you dozens of record salesmen from Finland and Sweden.

More than 200 companies involved

There’s thousands unique and beautiful Christmas presents to find from Kaapelin joulu’s wide selection of salesmen which contains more than 200 companies from different fields. You can find toys, clothes, home supplies, jewelleries and cosmetic-products, all under the same roof.

Attendees has been chosen on the grounds of criterions, from which they must fill at least two
1. Product is designed in Finland
2. Product is manufactured or been stacked in Finland
3. Product is manufactured by finnish materials
4. Product is handmade
5. Product promotes sustainable development so it is ecologically, economically or ethically sustainable

One of the best thing of this event is that you can ask about the materials and their backgrounds and also the methods of production straight from the salesperson. For this Christmas buy something that lasts time, travels well and is made with love.

Approximately half of the companies switches between the weekends so there’s a lot to see the whole time. List of all the companies: http://www.kaapelinjoulu.fi/vendors/

Program and workshops
Super popular Tonttunaama Kinkkubingo, morning workout with the Krtek the Mole, Vuorenpeikon pajan seppä and Remake Collective’s workshop are all part of the daily program in the event. Also the Santa Claus is there the whole time.

All the workshops are free and open for every single one. You can make a Christmas card, create and design your own badges and buttons or saw a fun product out of a exhibition carpet. Come and create wonderful products and learn new skills at the same time.

This year we can also enjoy of the literary art when Harri Hertell comes and recites his traditional and cheerful poetry. Also Finland’s first reading dog Börje and Helsinki’s own assistant city manager for example read their favourite Christmas tales.

Krtek the Mole has amused children as well the elderly over the years and this year it is here to put some movement to every person in the event with its morning workout. In charge of the music are Lyran & Akademian choir and also Tiernapojat which is a traditional singspiel performed by 5th graders from the School of Tuomarila.
